BEAUTY ANNA KURNIKOVA
Born in Moscow, Russia, Anna picked up her first tennis racquet at age five. She began hitting at Sokolniki Park and became a member of the prestigious Spartak Tennis Club, coached by Larissa Preobraschenskaja. In 1989, at the tender age of eight, Anna began appearing in junior tournaments, and by the following year, was attracting attention from tennis scouts across the world. Anna signed a management deal at age ten and went to Bradenton, Florida to train at Nick Bolletierri's celebrated tennis academy.
Following her arrival in the United States, Anna exploded onto the tennis scene, making her the internationally recognized tennis star she is today. At age 14, she became the youngest player ever to win a Fed Cup match. She then went on to win the European Championships and the Italian Open Junior tournament. Anna also beat out the competition to win the prestigious Junior Orange Bowl, becoming the youngest player ever to win the 18 and under division at that tournament. By the end of the year, Anna was crowned the ITF World Champion.
After her success in the juniors, Anna turned pro in 1995. She won two ITF singles tournaments, the 1st in Midland, Michigan, and the 2nd in Rockford, Illinois. Anna then battled through four qualifying rounds at the U.S. Open to eventually reach the fourth round of the main draw in her first-ever Grand Slam Tournament where she lost to Steffi Graff. At the end of 1996, Anna was the recipient of the prestigious Sanex WTA Tour Most Impressive Newcomer Award.
In 1997, Anna reached the semi-finals of Wimbledon and became the 2nd woman in the Open Era, next to Chris Evert, to reach the Wimbledon Semi's in her career debut. A year later, Anna broke into the world's top 20 at #16. At The Lipton Championships in Key Biscayne, Florida, Anna defeated four consecutive top 10 players in a four day period during a single tournament, an unprecedented achievement that no other female tennis player has accomplished to date. Three months later, she beat Steffi Graff on grass, a feat only two other players accomplished in the 90's. That same week, Anna broke in to the top 10 for the first time in her career. At the end of 1998, Anna finished the year at #13 in the world in singles and #10 in doubles. Her career continued to bloom during the next two years, with a year end ranking of #12 in singles and #1 in doubles in 1999, and #8 in singles and #4 in doubles in 2000.
Anna has defeated many of the top players who have competed on the women's tour, including Lindsay Davenport, Steffi Graff, Monica Seles, Jennifer Capriati, and Martina Hingis. These impressive wins, along with Anna's consistent top 10 rankings, two Grand Slam doubles titles at the 1999 and 2002 Australian Open, and 3 Grand Slam Mixed Doubles Finals, have more than proven her ability to excel in both singles and doubles on the WTA Tour.
Kournikova's marital status has been an issue on several occasions. There were conflicting rumors about whether she was engaged to ice hockey player Pavel Bure. There were reports that she married NHL ice hockey star Sergei Fedorov in 2001. Kournikova's representatives have denied this, but Fedorov stated in 2003 that the couple had married and since divorced.
Kournikova started dating pop star Enrique Iglesias in late 2001, (in whose video, "Escape", she appeared), and rumors that the couple had secretly married appeared in 2003 and again in 2005. Kournikova herself has consistently refused to directly confirm or deny rumors about the status of her personal relationships. But, in May 2007, Enrique Iglesias was (mistakenly, as he would clarify later) quoted in the New York Sun that he had no intention to marry Anna and settle down because they had split up. The singer would later deny these rumors of "divorce" or simply separation. In June 2008, Iglesias told the Daily Star that he had married Kournikova the previous year and that they are currently separated. Enrique has stated in interviews after that that it was simply a joke, and they are still very much together.

Alessandra Corine Ambrosio was born in the small town of Erechim, Brazil on April 11, 1981 to petrol station-owner parents. She is of Italian and Polish descent. She was just eight years old when she decided she wanted to be a model, after seeing a picture of top covergirl Karen Mulder in a magazine. "I wanted to be like her", she recalls. However, she felt insecure about her appearance, particularly of her large, obvious ears. So at 11, she had cosmetic surgery done to get her ears pinned back. She had complications from the surgery for the two years following. In 2006 on The Tyra Banks Show, she said that the surgery had been a bad experience for her and that she was discouraged from having plastic surgery again. She has a sister named Aline Ambrosio, a New York City-based lawyer.
When Ambrosio was 12 years old, she enrolled in modeling classes then, began modeling for Dilson Stein at age 15. Winning Brazil's Elite Model Look started her modeling career. Her first big modeling job was the cover of the Brazilian Elle magazine. Elite passed along some of her Polaroids to Guess which led her to do the Millennium GUESS? campaign along with her friend and fellow Brazilian Ana Beatriz Barros. She has since been in huge demand, working with big-name brands including Revlon, Christian Dior, Giorgio Armani, Rolex, Oscar de la Renta, Gucci, Escada, Rocco Barocco, Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren, as well as the famed Pirelli Calendar. Her most notable walk down the runway was in 2005 wearing lingerie made entirely out of candy. In 2004, she was selected as the first spokesmodel for Victoria's Secret PINK line. She is currently a contract 'Angel' and spokesmodel for Victoria's Secret. Her 'Angel' status has brought her to the public's attention being cited by the popular media as one of the world's sexiest women. At the closing ceremony of the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy, Lavigne represented Canada performing her song "Who Knows" during the eight minutes of the Vancouver 2010 part.
In 2007 Lavigne promoted The Best Damn Thing in Hong Kong. In 2006 while Lavigne was in studio for her third studio album, Fox Entertainment Group asked her to write a song for the soundtrack to the 2006 fantasy-adventure film Eragon. She wrote and recorded two "ballad-type" songs, one of which "Keep Holding On" was used for the film. Lavigne admitted that writing the song was a challenge for her, making sure it flows along with the film. She also noted that "Keep Holding On" did not tell what the next album would be like. The song that later released on the album, appeared on radio on November 20, 2006, and later debuted for digital download on November 28.
In the issue of Seventeen magazine on January 2003, Avril admitted to "snagging a bite of Matt's cheeseburgers every now and again". She also mentioned that prefers not to eat meat, but will not say she's a vegetarian "in case anyone caught her eating meat".
Lavigne has a tattoo of star the inside of her left wrist that matches the style of the one used for her first album artwork. In late 2004, she amde a small pink heart-shaped tattoo with the letter 'D' on her right wrist, which represents her husband Deryck Whibley, a Canadian singer and guitarist, leader of punk band Sum 41. Whibley made his proposal to Lavigne during trip to Venice, enjoying a gondola ride, and then having a romantic picnic.
