Shahrukh Khan Play A Roll With Kajol

Shahrukh Khan Turns Into A Fatherly Figure In His New Movie

Be assured to see Shahrukh Khan like never before in director Karan Johar’s much anticipated film My Name Is Khan. Shahrukh, 43, and father of two kids, plays his age and essays the character of a teenage boy’s father.

According to media reports, Karan says it was not an issue for Shahrukh to play a dad. K-Jo is quoted as saying, “Actors should not worry about these things. I don’t think they should allow these aspects to interfere in accepting roles based on such things.”

Earlier, Shahrukh did play father to small kids in movies like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai , Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. But this time it’s different; he will be seen as the father of a grown-up lad. It’s believed that SRK didn’t even inquire Karan about the script, neither was he scared about his screen appearance or what the audience will think. He was comfortable with the role.

For Karan, it is his biggest ever project and the director is not leaving any stone unturned to make ‘My Name Is Khan’ his best. Last time he touched the sensitive issue of infidelity and finding love outside marriage in ‘Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna’ and now it’s a story of an autistic Muslim man, Rizwan Khan (Shahrukh Khan) who’s married to a Hindu woman Mandira, played by Kajol.

Shahrukh will again play the dad of a grown-up boy in Anubhav Sinha’s ‘Ra 1’, which is his own production film. In the times when Saif Ali Khan got botox-ed to look younger in Love Aaj Kal and Akshay Kumar pumped iron for a toned, chiseled look of a young guy in Kambakkht Ishq, Shahrukh sets an example that age doesn’t matter but a good role does
